Mendocino Crab and Wine Days

The Restaurant at Stevenswood will be taking part in the annual Mendocino Crab and Wine Days by hosting a number of events and special menus to feature delectable, fresh crab. This is an annual occasion on the Mendocino Coast during crab season and runs from late December through late February.

2009 Alsace Festival in Anderson Valley



Tickets are on sale now for a celebration of Riesling, Gew├╝rztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and other noble Alsace varietals in California's renowned Anderson Valley. Some of the wineries involved in the celebration include:

Wine And Mushroom Festival



Nancy D. Brown mentioned an upcoming event of ours: we're a part of the Wine & Mushroom Festival and it takes place November 9th from noon to 6pm.

Participants will begin foraging for mushrooms, for which Mendocino is known to be abundant, guided by a local expert, Mr. Eric Schramm. Once harvested, our guests may choose to have their mushrooms prepared in a special dinner that evening by Patrick Meany.

By far the most innovative cooking on the North Coast. One of the best foie gras preparations I've ever had. This restaurant is unlike any in the area, and deserves mention along side some of California's best

Esterlina Winemaker's Dinner a Smashing Success!

Last night, the Restaurant at Stevenswood hosted a Winemaker's Dinner with Esterlina Vineyards. The menu turned out to be 10 courses, each paired with wine, and a surprise scoop of Esterlina port wine ice cream paired with Esterlina port wine - delicious!

Chef Patrick Meany spoke about each course before it was presented (see photo below) followed by a presentation of the pairing by Eric Sterling, winemaker for Esterlina Vineyards.

The evening received many accolades from our guests and was a huge success!

Watermelon Tartare at Winesong!


The chef had prepared a "Watermelon Tartare," a play on traditional steak tartare, for the guests at Winesong! What is usually raw steak was instead raw heirloom tomatoes and watermelon, pickled watermelon rind, and basil with a pineapple "yolk" - encapsulated pineapple juice.

The whole Stevenswood team was onsite today at the Winesong! event, an annual fundraiser for the local hospital on the Mendocino Coast. We had a very popular booth!

About the Restaurant at Stevenswood

The Restaurant at Stevenswood opened in 1998 inside the Stevenswood Spa-Resort. It has remained the finest dining establishment on the Mendocino Coast ever since.
